This project was a bit of a trial and error, but after a few months of work during the summer of 2022, we were able to get it.

This waste water treatment system is installed at my off-grid glamping site. It breaks down and converts waste water into clean water. The clean water is then directed into a series of ponds and finally into a wildlife pond which is aerated. Once the water reaches a certain level, it is automatically distributed for irrigation locally. This ensures that none of the water from the system is released into nearby water courses. This closed loop waste system allows for a minimal impact on the outside world. In addition, all electronics used in the system are powered by renewable energy sources.

The next step in this process is to calculate the amount of timber that will be needed for the life span of the business, including expansion and restoration within the site. We will then plant trees to accommodate this rotation and use the irrigation system to maximise growth.
